Saturday, August 28, 2010 Saturday started with a wakeup call at 0420hrs to assist our brothers and sister of Woolwich Fire Department with a working dwelling fire on Olympia Court. Woolwich had a 2 story dwelling with fire through the roof on arrival. Tender 1914 assisted with water supply while Engine 1911 and Rescue 1918 assisted with interior operations.
From there the crews headed back to town to get cleaned up for the NYC to Arlington Iron and Steel Run. A section steel from the World Trade Center was headed down Interstate 295 Arlington to be displayed in part of a memorial. The memorial was escorted by the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, members of FDNY and the NJ State Police. Engine 1911 and Rescue 1918 participated in this event along with numerous units from all over the county.
Crews then enjoyed an evening off for some fellowship as they took in a game at Campbell Field in Camden to watch the Camden River Sharks take on the Lancaster Barnstormers. The night was capped off with a firework's after the game.
