About 0110 this morning District 19, Rescue 21, GC BLS 82-35
and Underwood Paramedics were dispatched to a Car vs. House MVC in the Mount
Royal section of town.&nbsp;A vehicle with
one occupant had lost control struck two parked cars, two houses causing
significant damage to the second house and striking a natural gas main.&nbsp;Due to the patientâs deteriorating condition,
the patient was rapidly extricated from the vehicle.&nbsp;BLS 82-35 &amp;amp; LS-1 transported the patient
to Cooper Trauma.&nbsp;Fire Department crews
stood by with scene lighting for the police departments investigation and to
assist the EG Construction Code Official.&nbsp;The Code Official had been requested to check the structural integrity of
the dwellings.&nbsp;Fire units operating on
scene included Deputy 19, Rescue 1918, Engine 1911, Gibbstown Fire Units Chief
21 &amp;amp; Rescue 2118.

On Tuesday Evening the volunteers of East Greenwich Township
Fire &amp;amp; Rescue went to the Gloucester County Fire Academy to practice their skills.&nbsp;Tonightâs training session was on extinguishing
vehicle fires.&nbsp;Crewsâ worked on fine tuning skills.&nbsp;Thanks to the staff of
the Gloucester County Fire Academy and Gloucester County College for allowing
us to use the facility.

 	<title>Head On MVC in Mount Royal</title>

On Friday Morning, District 19, Gloucester County BLS Units
82-35 and 82-45 and Life Support&nbsp; were dispatched to Kings Highway and County
House Roads for a 2 Car, Head On Motor Vehicle Crash.&nbsp;Rescue 1918 &amp;amp; Utility 1910 responded to
assist.&nbsp;Crews assisted EMS and with
controlling the leaking fluids from the vehicles.&nbsp;One patient was transported to Underwood
Hospital and one patient was transported to Cooper Trauma.&nbsp;Crews operated on scene for approximately
45 minutes.&nbsp; This was the second motor vehicle crash for the day.&nbsp; Units were operating out on Interstate 295 southbound around 0130hrs for a single car MVC.

 	<title>Township Committee Approves Bond</title>

On Tuesday Evening the volunteers firefighters received some
much need help from the East Greenwich Township Committee.&nbsp;After many meetings the Town Fathers were
able to come to an agreement to finance a new Rescue Pumper for the volunteer
fire department.&nbsp;The department proposed
a 3 for 1 vehicle purchase during a public presentation at the committeeâs
February Meeting.&nbsp;&nbsp;The department proposed retiring a 29 year old
fire engine, a 26 year old fire engine and an 18 year old rescue truck to be replaced
with a new combination Rescue Pumper.&nbsp;The
two older fire engine are open cabs, this meaning the rear seating areas and
not in an enclosure.&nbsp;The Members of East
Greenwich Township Fire and Rescue would like to Thank the members of the
Township Committee for being able to forge a deal to provide the funding for
the purchase of the safer more up to date piece of fire apparatus.

 	<title>Assignment Upgraded</title>

This evening East Greenwich Township Fire and Rescue was
dispatched to a cover assignment in neighboring Swedesboro / Woolwich Township.&nbsp;Station 25-1 had been dispatched to a
dwelling fire.&nbsp;Just as Engine 1911 was
to respond the assignment was upgraded to a working fire and Engine 1911 was
reassigned to West Wolfert Station Road and Warrington Mill Road to establish a
water supply to refill water tenders that would be used to supply the
firefighting effort. Water Tenders were being used due to the lack of hydrants in the area.&nbsp; Engine 1911 established a draft site at Warrington Mill Pond suctioning water from the pond and using it to refill the tenders.&nbsp; East Greenwich Tender 1914 was used to shuttle water from the draft site to the scene.&nbsp;Rescue 1918
and Utility 1910 also responded.&nbsp;Crews
operated for approximately 3 hours extinguishing the fire.

 	<title>Building Fire in Woodbury Heights</title>

 <![CDATA[At 06:00 hours, the volunteers of East Greenwich Township Fire &amp;amp; Rescue were dispatched as a RIC to an All Hands Building Fire on the 500&nbsp;block of Elm&nbsp;Ave. in Woodbury Heights.&nbsp; The location was Woodbury Heights (15-1's) Firehouse.&nbsp; District 19 responded with Rescue 1918 and joined 6-3's RIC team providing safety and protection in case of a down or missing firefighter.&nbsp;&nbsp;Members of 15-1 were able&nbsp;to get out their equipment and fellow members gear which&nbsp;lined the sidewalk and front lawn of their Municipal Building next door&nbsp;as crews went in service to extinguish the fire on the second floor.&nbsp; The fire was placed under control and crews went in overhaul and salvage operations.(Photos Courtesy of William Reiger III &amp;amp; BC Senkier)
District 15 had just celebrated their 100th Anniversary last year (2011) and unfortunately this incident brings back memories to a previous fire at the same location many years back.Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to "Raggs"&nbsp; Tommy Radcliffe who was airlifted to Crozier Medical Center after inhaling superheated air while removing the apparatus from the Engine Room.

At 06:25 hours, Rescue 1918's O.I.C. (1903) was notified of a second assignment in our local.&nbsp; District 19 was dispatched in the area of Kings Highway and Whiskley Mill Roads for a&nbsp;reported M.V.C. with one patient needing medical attention.&nbsp; 1903 requested Mutual Aid to assist&nbsp;District 19's second duty crew to assist in this assignment.&nbsp; Chief 1901 and Utility 1910 responded to the 2nd assignment.&nbsp; Kings Highway was shut down for a couple of hours due to the accident.&nbsp; Thanks to Rescue 2118 for assisting with the crash....]]>

 	<title>Dwelling Fire in Clarksboro</title>

On Thursday Evening the Volunteers of East Greenwich
Township Fire &amp;amp; Rescue were dispatched to the 200 block of Kings Highway for
a reported working house fire.&nbsp;Neighbors
flagged down EGPD Sgt Steve Ridinger who was passing through the area and alerted
him to the smoke that they saw coming from a neighboring house.&nbsp;Sgt Ridinger found the source of the smoke
and radioed to have the fire department dispatched and then continued to assist
on scene.&nbsp;Smoke could be seen billowing
down on Kings Hwy during rush hour. Flames were visible along the roof line of
the right side of the house.&nbsp;Engine Co
1911 arrived and laddered the side of the house and went into service with a 1 Â¾
water line.&nbsp;Crews quickly doused the
flames.&nbsp;Harrison Township Ladder Co 2316
arrived and checked the upper floors for extension.&nbsp;The assignment was quickly placed under
control. The house was originally built in 1721 and is a registered historical site for the township.&nbsp; Additional automatic mutual aid
units on scene included Paulsboro's Eng 1721 &amp;amp; 1711, Gibbstown's
Ladder 2116 and Woolwich's Ladder 2516 along with Gloucester County BLS Unit
8235.&nbsp;The Fire was investigated by
CFM-1.&nbsp;Just after cleaning up Eng Co
1912 was sent to a wires arcing call at Hidden Acres Park.&nbsp;District 19 ran a total of 4 incidents in
East Greenwich Township Thursday.
